HMO deep clean
Three HMOs. One day.
A client with three HMOs needed every one of them deep cleaned ahead of inspection. We priced all three as a single job and cleaned them in one day.
Kitchens took the most work: ovens, hobs, extractor hoods and microwaves degreased, sinks descaled and floors scrubbed. Then windows and sills, bathrooms, and the shared stairs, landings and hallways.
The deep cleans led to regular work: the same client now has us in for weekly and biweekly cleans.
For the past two years the same client has called us in whenever their students move out. Every property gets an end-of-tenancy deep clean, so it is ready for whoever moves in next.
Student kitchens take the hardest wear: burnt-on gas hobs, oven doors glazed with grease and sinks left full. We strip those back first, then work through bathrooms, floors, stairs and hallways.
Our HMO and Airbnb clients often hand us the maintenance as well as the cleaning. Our own team and the trades we work with do the jobs, we pay them, and the client deals with one person and gets one invoice.
Two of those jobs are shown here. A gutter packed with moss and standing water was cleared out end to end, and an attic bedroom with scuffed, marked walls was brought back to clean white.
Ovens and appliances get booked on their own, or added to an end-of-tenancy, HMO or Airbnb clean. Landlords often call us just before an inspection or a new tenant moves in.
Racks, trays, the oven floor and the door glass are stripped of baked-on grease. Dishwashers, fridges and freezers get the same treatment.
Guests held a party in an Airbnb flat and left it behind them: balloons on every floor, petals trodden into the carpet, empties along the counter and a table buried in rubbish.
We bagged and cleared the lot, vacuumed the petals out of the carpets, stripped and remade the bed, emptied the fridge and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, so the flat was back to the way it looks in the listing.
A three-bedroom Airbnb in a converted brick building, cleaned between one guest checking out and the next checking in.
Every bed was stripped and made up with fresh linen and rolled towels. In the kitchen we cleaned the hob, oven, fridge and sink and mopped the herringbone floor, then cleaned the shower room and reset the coffee station so the next guests walked into the flat from the listing.
